Joe's Totally Bogus Web Page
Everyone seems to have a web page. I feel peer pressure to conform and so created this. How can you be a self-respecting geek without one?
Topics
Family:
Joe's Paranormal Family [click here, but not before lunch] This page was created for my 10-year-old niece, to poke fun at her ghost-hunting father, and is more-or-less appropriate for that age. Now that she is 12, Linkin Park, Metallica and Guns 'n Roses have replaced Aaron Carter. Her parents await '13' with understandable trepidation. Her older sister is serving time in a minimum security facility upstate New York (www.geneseo.edu).
Friends:
Theodore Kaczynski: Those late nights typing up the Manifesto, arguing about whether molecular biology or computer science presented the greater danger... those were the days! (attn. security office: just kidding!) Ted has been out-of-touch for a while. And his web page seems to be down, but some history (the college years) can be found at http://www.theatlantic.com/issues/2000/06/chase.htm
Hobbies: (awaiting content)
Virology
Experimental Neurochemistry (attn. security office: just kidding!)
Real-Time systems
Misc:
Good things in my area of Paterson:
desicafe
Great South-Asian food and
only a few blocks from my house. Rent a hookah for a post-dinner
treat.
If you are too young to know, a hookah is a
water-filled pipe used to smoke tobacco or similar substances (attn.
security office: just kidding!), not a euphemism for a
sex-worker! Around here we refer to those people as
'certified massage therapists'.
Ralph
Piccolo's Pizza
The
pizza is decent, the Sopranos have filmed there (“Respect
the pizza parlor...“) – and who else delivers pizza
in a Caddie?
E&V
Ristorante
Good
Italian food. No longer BYOB (unfortunately) and plastic is not
accepted.
Good things that are in Paterson (but are beyond my “that's too far from home” radius of 2000 feet):
Lambert
Castle
Even cooler
up-close than in the picture – a great local place for
weddings.
Great
Falls
The Great Falls at
Paterson is a must-see. Yet
another Soprano's film venue (“YASFV”); drug dealer
thrown off pedestrian bridge to his death . [picture
from an old postcard]
Garrett
Mountain Reservation
Garrett
Mountain is a nice place to hike. Offers great views.
Rifle
Camp Park
Okay, Rifle
Camp Park is actually in the next town (West Paterson). Nice view of
Manhattan skyline.
Lou
Costello's statue
(“YASFV”)
Rogers
Locomotive Works
For locomotive-obsessives. Locomotives are behind the Paterson
Museum.
